The Build
Overview
Offering 320hp at the wheels thanks to a properly built 911 engine, this 987 Cayman weighs in at approximately 2,700 pounds with a full load of fuel and has been developed for good times at the track. Steel sleeves, Carillo connecting rods, Porsche Cup rod bearings, and a deep sump oil pan have been employed to make the engine bulletproof, and a Getrag manual gearbox has been outfitted with custom short gearing better suited for track use. This example sports a long list of top-shelf upgrades and we think it could serve as a great shortcut for anyone looking to get more serious about weekends at the track.
