1997 BMW M3 'S54 Swap'

Borrowing from the best BMW parts bins, this E36 M3 build stays true to the brand with a high-revving S54 motor out of a E46 M3. The motor features new rod bearings and some supporting hardware from the E36/8 Z3M parts bin, which shared similar underpinnings but included the legendary S54 in its last two years of production. This example has quite a few miles on the clock, but the drivetrain swap was relatively recent. It is a driver through and through, and we imagine it is an absolute delight on the backroads.
