The Build
Overview
Built for fun at the track, this E34 540i sports a long list of worthy upgrades but still maintains its street legal status in some states. Bigger injectors feed the motor with all the fuel it needs, while a custom lightweight 3″ exhaust routes the spent gasses out the back with minimal pumping losses and plenty of good music. A lightweight flywheel lets the motor rev freely while reducing parasitic losses, and a custom hybrid clutch helps put the power down reliably. The suspension has been thoroughly reworked and it has been corner balanced for more predictable handling, while a four-point roll bar and a Sparco driver’s seat have been fitted for safety.
